The Brief
Reformat and extend their family room and kitchen incorporating functional laundry and separate toilet. BBQ and entertaining area that provides weather and solar access.
The Result
The existing rear flat roof extension was demolished. The Rossmark team designed a home addition that saw a minor extension of the building foot print to accommodate both a new laundry and separate toilet. The gourmet kitchen was position and shaped to provided integration to the exterior via server bifold window and stacking doors. The interior design enables the dining and lounge to have connection with the out door environment, something this client was craving. The out doors space was extended and renovated giving a more functional light filled entertaining area that has a strong relationship to the interior. The rectangular form of the entertaining area adds to the feeling space while the repositioned exterior stairs have a more central relationship with the yard drawing the occupants to outdoors.
