The Brief
The client wants to go up, and create a spacious second storey addition, a functional shower room and bedrooms to allow their children to grow. On the lower ground floor level, the clients needed a larger ground floor kitchen, knowing there wasn’t much room to expand, something needed to be done. Additionally, the client had invested money to existing shutters but needed new windows, a small but key part, was to ensure that the existing shutters could be reused.
The Result
The Rossmark Team clearly heard the client’s needs and were able to shape a second level that accommodated their growing children’s needs and entire brief, while using complying development approval gateway, which meant the project was approved within 28 days from lodgement.
The design included modification to an existing bedroom which enabled the staircase to be positioned adjacent to the entry door, providing natural light and interior detail. Additionally, the renovated space provided essential storage and a walk-in-robe to the adjacent master bedroom.
Creative kitchen design was undertaken with the ground floor renovations. Large improvements were made including increased circulation space, pantry storage and much needed bench space. Additionally, the lower ground floor exterior underwent a facelift, tying in with the new first floor addition.
The first floor addition includes 2 large bedrooms, living room, shower room and open staircase. The window glazing is positioned to harvest natural breeze and winter sun with appropriately sized eaves protecting the glazing from unwanted summer sun.
