The Brief
The client had originally engaged an architect to assist in designing their home extension, but felt that there was a disconnect between design and construction. The clients’ requirement was for a home renovation and extension that could accommodate their family needs. Rossmark was engaged to deliver a first floor extension, managing the project to budget and charged with the responsibility of ensuring construction is to quality.
The Result
Rossmark building designers proposed an upper storey addition which took advantage of the north easterly aspect and water views. The extension included a master bedroom with robes and Ensuite, additional two bedrooms, serviced by a shower room, the accommodation was zoned by the neatly positioned staircase that accesses the first floor and introduces you to the living room, terrace and views.
The ground floor plan consisted of the removal of internal walls of the previous bedrooms, which enabled integration with the proposed lower terrace and future pool (Part of Stage 2 – Masterplan). The renovated kitchen was placed into the area adjacent to the staircase and next to the laundry, which provides a lovely open family room. A new Colorbond roof and external cladding was proposed to the lower level with exposed rafter details that continue to the upper floor, tying in old and new.
