Project History
Jannali, Sutherland Shire $350K - $550KThe Brief
The children are attending university and outgrowing their rooms and the little space they have. The family required a larger and more spacious entertaining area on the existing lower level.
The house is located on a beautiful corner block; however, it is a rather small piece of land and the house is in need of refurbishment. Council requirements are heavily taken into consideration in terms of Design.
The Result
The Rossmark Team designed a second storey addition consisting of 2 bedrooms, shower room and living room for the young adults, whilst renovating the existing ground floor forming an open plan family living, dining and kitchen. The style of the new home extension complements the existing dwelling, resulting in a compact and neat cottage with a touch of contemporary colours.
The project encompassed removal of lower walls and associated alterations for the new stair accessing the second level. The position of the stair maximises the area of living both on ground level as well as the upper story. The nature of the small block of land comes with challenges in fulfilling council requirements and the client brief.
The balance of space efficiency and comfort is never more crucial for this home renovation. The new family room now invites guests to mingle whilst a meal is prepared for friendship and entertainment.
What the client said
After consulting with other local builders we finally decided to build with Rossmark and we are so glad we made that decision. From our initial consultation with Peter, who was very professional, talked us through a design that we were more than happy with. Glen, Jason, David and Cliff were excellent tradesmen and at no stage did we feel inconvenienced during the 3 month process. We would have no hesitation in recommending Rossmark. Ian & Lesley
