The Brief
The client required an upper storey addition to their existing home that included a master suite consisting of a walk-in robe and an ensuite, as well as a guest room, shower room, study and lounge room. Additionally, the scope to the lower floor includes an interior renovation to the kitchen, laundry, bathroom, bedroom and entry. When the clients came to us, they already had a previously approved plan, but they wanted modifications and were looking for guidance on it. It was later revealed through our conversations that our client used to be an apprentice for Rossmark in the early 1990s, what an honour to support our apprentice then and now provide our professional services to them as our client.
The Result
The Rossmark building designer team made sure the client’s needs were understood, through images, plans and multiple meetings. When it came time for authority approvals, on behalf of the clients, we navigated the otherwise complicated process of alteration and expansion of the existing DA approval via a separate complying development approval process.
The first-floor extension is seated neatly over the existing home and soften with a covered upper terrace accessed via the master bedroom. The guest bedroom enjoys a central shower and access to a shared lounge room and study.
The clients couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome and the renovation. This newly renovated home provides the family the ability to live and grow. They are also able to entertain in multiple areas in the home. Now, they can stay and enjoy their house without moving away from the highly desirable and in demand locality of Cronulla.
