The Brief
Located just 30 minutes from Sydney CBD, Oatley is a highly sought-after suburb. Our clients love the location but had outgrown their house, prompting the need for a well-designed extension. The project brief was to include two spacious bedrooms, a modern living room, and a shared shower room to accommodate their growing family.
The Result
The Rossmark BD team explored various house extension design options, considering both upward and outward expansions. Ultimately, the upper storey extension offered the ideal balance of functionality, space, and value, transforming the house to meet the evolving needs of the family. The staircase was strategically positioned to create a seamless connection between the upper and lower living areas while maintaining privacy for both the new upper-floor accommodation and the existing ground-floor bedrooms. The north-facing upper living room allowed natural light to flow down the staircase, brightening the previously dark, south-facing lower area.
The result is a functional, well-connected home that comfortably accommodates the family now and for years to come.
