House Extensions

Cronulla   $550K+
A Family-Focused Transformation

The Brief

This family home in Cronulla, Sydney, was showing signs of age. The home had termite damage, water leaks, and a layout that no longer suited the needs of its occupants. Despite the structural issues, the location was ideal for the family, taking relocating the family out of the equation. The solution: a comprehensive home renovation and extension that would not only repair the damage and but also enhance the functionality and liveability of the space.

The Result

The expert team at Rossmark Building Designers worked closely with the homeowners to create a tailored renovation plan.

Project focus:
  • Reconfiguring the internal layout of the existing two storey home to provide better circulation and functionality for the family.
  • Improvement of the durability of the house. The team replaced damaged linings and replaced damaged timber windows with durable aluminium windows. Additionally, by introducing ventilated cladding and permeable membranes in the walls will lead to improved insulation, decreased condensation and long-term health benefits.
  • Optimising natural light and ventilation through strategic window placement.
  • Light landscaping and exterior upgrades, this is to complete the home extension and to complement the work done on the interior.
what we achieved

A ground floor renovation that is functional and aesthetically pleasing. The newly configured kitchen and laundry (with powder room) were designed with both practicality and visual appeal in mind, enhancing daily comfort and usability. Additionally, the relocation of the stair position enabled complete reconfiguration and renovation of the second storey, including a bathroom renovation and a beautifully configured master suite including an ensuite.

Extension of the home by reclaiming and stabilising the previously unused terrace area allowed for a functional study area with a stunning corner window that makes the most of the gorgeous sunlight and view.

The transformation delivered a modern, healthy, and highly functional family home.  With improved airflow, natural light, and a thoughtful layout, the renovated property now supports the family’s lifestyle while preserving its location advantage. The use of high-performance materials ensures durability, peace of mind and comfort for years to come. Goodbye dear yellow house, hello new beginning and welcome home!
